The long-term vision for NEAR is for ecosystem and infrastructure development efforts to be fully decentralized and community-led. Until then, some of that work comes through the NEAR Foundation. The NEAR Foundation has appointed and endowed the NEAR Infrastructure Committee with a mission to improve and maintain the underlying infrastructure so developers can build successful applications on NEAR.
The Committee consists of various leaders across the NEAR ecosystem. Its work involves proposing improvements for the NEAR ecosystem via RFPs(requests for proposals), considering and voting on community proposals, and getting funds to teams when a proposal is approved.
The IC are the decision makers. We rely on these ecosystem leaders to help decide what areas should be advertised for proposals, what proposals should be approved, and how funds should be allocated in the budget. The NEAR Foundation sets the budget in coordination with the committee.

The WG is the implementers, negotiators, and thought leaders who facilitate the workstreams that make deals happen. This includes business development, partner support, administration activities like marketing, status reporting, budgeting, managing the funding pipeline, building and administering programs, coordinating meetings, and managing communications.
